LET US PUBLICLY RECOGNIZE THE BEST
CHILD CARE/YOUTH WORKERS IN NEW ENGLAND
Agencies like yours are always looking for ways to publicly recognize outstanding employees, and so are we. For 15 years we’ve honored New England’s most gifted direct-care workers in our annual Child Care and Youth Worker Awards ceremony. But we know such ceremonies aren’t really enough. That’s why we’re giving you an opportunity to reward your very best staffer in a higher-impact way – by nominating him or her as one of NEN’s Best of Child and Youth Care Awards.
What’s the benefit? During the year in which they are nominated, winners will:
- Be featured, with article and a photo, on NEN’s website, and in our Into Practice email bulletin.
- Receive a 50% discount to one NEN event during the year, and be publicly recognized at any NEN event that he or she attends during that year.
- Be offered a professional development opportunity within NEN. Winners may either co-lead a workshop at a relevant NEN training or conference, or be a speaker at an NEN event. NEN staff will work with the award-winner to craft a presentation.
- Become a mentor to a peer in their own or another NEN member agency. Contacts will be made directly by interested peers and facilitated by NEN as needed.
NEN will send press releases about your award-winner to local newspapers and regional and national child care/youth work publications.
We will accept nominations on an ongoing basis and recognize one individual per month. NEN member agencies may nominate one employee per year.

- Shelly Crouch of The Home for Little Wanderers
