New England Network for Child, Youth & Family Services

LETTER FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Dear Colleague,

Everyone in the child and youth services field has experienced the stresses of working in a rapidly changing environment. We at NEN have as well. So after surveys, interviews and conversations with our members, we adapted by overhauling our membership model. Simply put, we wanted to make it easier and cheaper to connect with you, streamline our own administrative operations, and create more and better opportunities for collaborative work.

So you will not receive a membership dues notice from us. In fact, you will no longer be solicited to become members at all. Instead we wish to transact business with you more directly, by offering two simple and affordable options:

Option 1. Partnership. Why become a partner of NEN?

The advantage of partnership is that essentially you're paying up-front for services that you then use throughout the year. When an organization is a partner, as opposed to simply a client, we get to know them and are primed to answer their TA requests when they come in. We can skip the getting-to-know-you phase and spend our time meeting your actual needs. Think of partnership as having an account with us, with none of the hassles and all of the customer service.

What's it cost? $550 per year.

What do you get? Three free webinar registrations and three hours of individual consultation or training, plus our best-in-the-field monthly Into Practice bulletin.

Partnership also includes you for consideration in NEN's continually expanding best practice research and professional development projects, which at times involves pursuing new funding.

Option 2. Subscribe. For a flat $150 annual fee, you'll get a subscription to our much-praised Into Practice bulletin and other related e-newsletters and announcements, and access to the NEN Job Bank. We mostly hope to attract new organizations to NEN with this option, and ask that you help us by spreading the word.

Going forward, your anniversary date will be the date we receive your Partnership or Subscription Fee.

In the meantime, check out our annual report. We think you'll be impressed by the scope of our work and its relevance to yours.

Most sincerely,
Melanie Goodman, Executive Director
