PARTNERS IN LEADERSHIP INITIATIVE
In 2005, NEN consolidated a variety of leadership activities together into one initiative, now known as Partners in Leadership (PIL). To improve our understanding of the "leadership landscape" in child, youth, and family services, we queried a cross-section of executive directors from across New England on a range of issues, such as identifying and recruiting leaders, attributes of executives, working with boards, transition planning, and growth. The insights we received were invaluable and affirmed the importance of finding new ways to nurture and build leadership within the field. Read our report on these conversations, Goodbye, Hello:
A Generation of Executives Reflects on Retirement and the Future of Services for Children and Youth.
Under this same initiative, NEN continues to design and sponsor an annual Regional Women in Leadership Summit with the CWLA. This unique event gives women executives and senior leaders an opportunity to share ideas, build their networks and take home new leadership strategies.
