2012 WEBINAR SERIES HERE COME THE FEDS Gaining Insight on Upcoming Federal Grant Opportunities Given the short window of time between a typical federal grant announcement and its due date, gaining early insight into upcoming funding opportunities is a critical step in the planning process for agencies seeking federal funds. This two-part webinar series is timed to coincide with the period from January to May, when the federal government rolls out most of its health and human services Requests for Proposals (RFPs).In addition to reviewing the basic criteria for each highlighted grant, NEN Fund Development Specialist Sharon Vardatira will help participants assess whether the opportunity is a good fit for their organization and what types of programs might be most likely to receive an award. These webinars are designed to profile newly announced federal grants of interest to nonprofits that serve children, youth, families and communities. Each of these webinars will focus on different RFPs announced around the webinar dates. Participation in both webinars will enable you to gain insight on several federal RFPs and their fit for your organization. About the Presenter Sharon Vardatira, NEN's Senior Fund Development Specialist since 1996, will facilitate this workshop. She has 28 years of proposal writing experience, including as Development Director and Executive Director of several Boston-area nonprofits. Since 1995, she has provided fund development consultation to NEN and its member organizations, as well as to other regional and national non-profit agencies, educational institutions, and organizations working on a wide variety of issues. In the last three years, Vardatira has written over 350 grants, raising approximately $5.5 million from government, foundation, and corporate funders. Vardatira is a member of the National Society of Fundraising Executives, Associated Grantmakers of Massachusetts, and Council on Foundations.
