2008-2009 WEBINAR SERIES

ADVANCED GRANTWRITING
Beyond the Basics: Creating a Standout Proposal (Part I)

(This is part one of a two-part series. While you are not required to register for both parts, we strongly encourage you to do so.)

This webinar is designed for individuals who've done some grant writing and are ready to address the finer points to make their proposals stand out from the rest. Particular emphasis will be placed on writing key make-or-break components, including outcome-based goals and objectives, process and outcome evaluation; concept papers/letters of inquiry; and budgets. Learning objectives include:
  • Better understanding of the important components of a grant proposal — including those elements that offer "bonus points" and are "deal breakers" – to maximize success.
  • Better understanding of and ability to present financial data.
  • Better ability to edit proposals for flow and content.
Participants will be encouraged to bring grant excerpts or draft documents to the second part, "More Than Words on the Page: What Works, What Doesn't," for review, comments, and suggestions.

Webinars: Convenient and Easy
A webinar (a web seminar) is a combination conference call and interactive web page. During the webinar, you will be listening by phone and looking at live instructional information through your web browser. You can ask questions and participate in discussions over the phone and also raise your hand by clicking a button online. When you register, you will receive an email with easy-to-follow instructions to get you online quickly for the class. By taking a webinar instead of an in-person course, you can learn the content without any travel time!
